Taking a little break

Meowm is taking a little break. Her heart is very hurt by all the things that humans do to animals and she needs a breather from seeing all of it. We'll be back sometime next week.

Tabby Tuesday

IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!! Those men came in today and worked on our apartment!!! The dishwasher is empty and working and the walls are at lest part way done! And it only took Meowm making mean calls to them 4 times and waiting for 2 weeks. Purrty soon Meowm can put the rest of our place back together!!

Speaking of which, we are liking the changes Meowm has made so far. We like our new "stairs" to get to our food. Meowm likes our new "stairs" too becasue with this set up, we aren't walking all over her desk to get to our foods. This means we won't be accidentally dropping foods on her desk, or accidentally up chucking on her desk. It's a win-win situation now.

My brofur continues to get a bit better. I heard Meowm say that she might take me with them to the next v-e-t appointment. She thinks maybe it will help my brofur be a bit quieter and calmer, since I am at least calmer in the red machine on wheels.

I am liking our new foods! It is purrty tasty, but I know Meowm is sniffing around to see if it is going to make me stinky like I was before. I hope it doesn't. I sure don't want to have to change foods again.

Meezer Monday

So, my trip to the v-e-t was not fun! I haven't been in the red machine on wheels for quite some time and I was not happy about being in it! I was a bit better once I actually got into my room at the v-e-t place. I like to roam around and explore, sniff things out you know. The only bummer was the room was rather warm, so I ended up plopping on the nice cool tile a few times. Once the v-e-t lady came in, well you can guess the first thing she did. Yep, that thing right up my bootie! At lest she acknowledged that it wasn't a nice thing she was doing, especially since she had just met me! I got weighed and I am at 15.14 pounds, so you can guess what happened with that. Yep, d-i-e-t. The food isn't bad, I just wish we, yes my brofur has to eat it too, could have a bit more.

The v-e-t lady listened to my chest and all that and said I sounded good. I am still sneezing a bit and have some goop in one of my eyes, but it wasn't bad enough for the v-e-t to give my any medicines. I will have to go back for some vaccinations, but not till next week, as long as I am doing better. There was talk about getting my teeth cleaned, but I don't know when that will happen yet.

All in all not a bad day, but not entirely wonderful either.

Our home is not put back together yet, and Meowm was not pleased about that. Threats don't work and she won't be reimbursed if she has an outside company come in and repair everything. She did threaten with calling OSHA if they don't get the dishwasher drained. So, we will see what today brings.

Meowm did get a few things straightened away here at home. The carpet was cleaned and dry, so she re-arranged her desk so that it isn't in the line of water damage anymore, unless there is tons of water. She still has some stuff left to take care of, stuff that will have to happen after the repairs, but at least now we are back online.

Finally Friday!!

Today we are hoping that our home gets put back together. Meowm was none to happy when she came in last night and nothing had been done. We hate to think what she will be like if it doesn't get handled today.

I am off to the v-e-t today. I am not happy about that. I am feeling a bit better. I was playing a little last night and my eye is not leaking. Meowm did find some green stuff on the other one. I am still sneezing a bit and have a bit of a snotty nose. Even if the v-e-t doesn't want to give me anything for my cold, I need my shots. Yuck! And my teeth need looked at. Meowm knows they need to be leaned, but that will have to happen when her taxes come back.

Thankful Thursday

As frustrated is Meowm is with all the problems at the apartment, she, and we, are thankful to have a roof over our heads. And we can afford to get ourselves to the
v-e-t, whether it be the human or animal one.

Wordless Wednesday (Almost)

While Meowm didn't hear any snezing last night, when grooming commenced she could hear a runny nose. Junior goes to the v-e-t Friday at 4:30.

Tabby Tuesday

So, my brofur is still sneezing and snotty and has a watery eye. Funny that it is only one eye. Meowm says none of it is funky colors, so probably no infection, but she is going to take him to the v-e-t on Friday anyway. She is just frustrated that she takes me, and it turns out I really didn't need to go, and now my brofur really needs to go, but she can't take him till Friday cause she spent those green papers on me, the not sick one! Life sure is frustrating sometimes.

As for the apartment.......the leak is fixed, but the walls are not repaired where they were ripped out to get to the pipe. The carpet and all is dry, but has to be cleaned, dry and then tacked back down. Last Monday when the first leak was fixed, the guys had to run the dishwasher a bit to see if they had the breaker to it turned off or not. So once they figured that out and fixed the leak, they forgot about there being water in it...and so did Meowm. Fast forward to Sunday, 6 days later and Meowm opens the door on it to set dishes in there to dry (she doesn't run it to clean them, says she doesn't dirty enough dishes to warrant it) and discovers water still in there. So she runs the dishwasher thru its cycles and IT DOESN"T DRAIN! You should have heard the bad words!!!

So Meowm moves on the use that big sucky machine. It accidentally sucked up the corner of one of the rugs, so Meowm turned it off, pulled out the rug and turned it back on. The roller doesn't turn and the suction doesn't suck. She took apart what she could and cleaned some stuff up. Rinsed the filter and tried it again yesterday....it doesn't work. The wand part works, plenty of suction there, but not the roller. Sheesh!!! All of this and discovering Junior is sick. She had heard him sneeze a couple of times thru the night, Sunday night, and heard his snotty nose, but as you know, on Monday morning when his eye was runny, she lost it.

She got home last night and discovered no one had worked on the apartment, so she put in another call to the office. Hopefully stuff will get done today. So Meowm did laundry and had a delightful dinner of french fries and an avocado. Yeah, real health nut we have......and she spent time with us. cuddling and scritching, and watching my brofur very closely.

Anyway, Meowm feels better today. Thank you for all the nice comments. We appreciate them all and all the purrs, which we hope you will keep up. Hopefully the apartment will be put back together by Friday and Meowm can set up her 'puter again. She is gonna call dyson to see if they can help her with the sucky machine, she is really hoping it doesn't have to go somewhere to get fixed, but she is afraid she might have burned out the roller motor.

As I was saying, she hung out with us and we watched Will Smith kick alien ass last night. All in all, a good night.

Meezer Monday

I am sneezing....and my nose is kind of snotty......and my eye was watering this morning. Meowm wiped off my watery eye and promptly started crying. There was a couple more issues at the apartment last night as well. But meowm is more worried about me. I guess I will be seeing the v-e-t on Friday. Purrs please!

WOW!!!!!!!

We have been so busy and involved with the leak that we didn't even realize an important moment had gone by!! This is our 1,004th post!!!!! We missed 1,000. Whew! We never knew we had that much to say!

The Leak Is Back!!!!!

All Meowm wants to do is curl up on the bed with us and stay there till they get their poop in a group and get this truly fixed. We, on the other paw, are having a great time with things in disarray.

I love being able to sit in the spots we usually don't get to and being able to sniff new spots out. AND there are all kinds of interesting smells where the wall is torn up!!!~~Junior

However, Meowm can't hook up her 'puter, and we are missing all of you. And Meowm is getting grouchy cause she watches her TV shows online (no cable or antenna TV at our place). So, things better get fixed or we will have to sit on her 24/7 to help her be okay.

Telling Tuesday

We have been having such an interesting time! Well, aside from Orion having to go to the v-e-t, when he really didn't need to. Anyway, all of his tests came back good, and we are both getting that fish oil sutff. Meowm puts it right in with our stinky goodness. Hopefully Orion will quit pulling out his furs now.

So, once Meowm discovered that there was a leak, and it wasn't Orion, she started moving all kinds of stuff around. The apartment is all in an uproar, and we are getting to sniff out places we normally don't sniff out. We got to get in one of the closet places. That was fun, roaming around in those hanging clothes and hiding out in there for awhile. Also, under that desk that holds the computer, that space is wide open right now, and has interesting smells, along with being a bit wet.

Yesterday two guys came in and moved more stuff around and we snuck over and watched them a little bit. They did make alot of noise, so we stayed away most of the time, but we couldn't help ourselves and had to snoopervise a little bit. They told Meowm it wasn't the hot water heater, but a pipe in the wall between the dishwasher (we thought Meowm was the dishwasher) and the hot water heater. Meowm is a bit skeptical. She doesn't like the noises the hot water heater is making and is nervous that it is going to die and she will have more flooding on her hands. But the guys said it was fine and they won't replace it.

Also last night, another guy came by and left a big fan pointed at the wet carpet. Meowm was not impressed with him, as he didn't even pull up the carpet to see how wet it might be underneath it. So, she took care of that. She propped up the carpet a bit, so the air could get under it and dry out in that area. We had to deal with that fan all night, and it is still running today, although Meowm feels like the carpet and such is purrty dry. She pointed it to the wall area where it is wet and cut up so it can have some help getting dry. The guys that did all the repair stuff said they wouldn't fix the wall till Friday, because they don't think it will be dried up till then. Meowm is all in a tizzy cause she can't be on the computer (at home) till they get the wall area fixed, well and the carpet area. But the carpet area will be fine by tomorrow.

So, we have seen the wheels turning in Meowms head. She is trying to figure if she can re-arrange things so the desk and computer aren't so near the flood areas. She would like to leave that area mostly empty, but we live in a small space, so it may not be possible. Plus, Meowm will have to get busy and do some serious spring cleaning, and toss some stuff out, and she says that is no fun. We guess it will all depend on how much she wants to avoid that "flood area".

I, Junior, still haven't seen anything for my Gotcha/Purrthday. I may have to let her have it about that tonight!

V-E-T EEEKKK!!!!!

Meowm says I have to go to the v-e-t tomorrow. Yuck! I still pull my hair out, but not near as much. And I am still a bit stinky, but not near as much. But now, I am drinking quite a bit of water, well I don't think it is quite a bit but Meowm does. Oh and there have been some pee spots happening outside the litterbox. I'm not saying I did it, and I am not saying who did, but this also has Meowm concerned. So, she is taking me to get me checked for some stuff, mainly diabetes and possible kidney issues. I am fine otherwise, eating and playing and all that stuff. She just wants to be certain there isn't something going wrong. So, some purrs would be nice please......just in case.

**UPDATE**

All my blood work came back good and we are waiting for the pee test results. I got some nifty fish oil for my dry skin. Now guess what Meowm discovered AFTER I had been to the v-e t and poked and stabbed.....she discovered that the hot water heater was leaking and THAT is why the floor was wet away from the litterbox! The indignities I suffered and it was not my fault!!! Serves her right to have to pay $160 AND have to move all kinds of stuff in the apartment AND not have her computer till after Monday. I don't feel bad for her at all! ~~Orion

It's still beyond chilly here. We continue to purr and pray for the outdoor animals. Meowm has seen yet another new kitty face out there and she gets more and more frustrated with humans. I sit on her lap and my brofur curls up at her back on the chair and we purr on her, thankful that she takes such good care of us and that she cares for others.

Happy New Year!!!

We gotta get back in the swing of things! We are still enjoying our tent! But all our weather has done is get colder. We worry about the outdoor kitties every night and purr for them. Meowm puts out extra food and hot water, so maybe they have a chance to get a drink before it freezes. We have the winter homes out for them, but we don't know how much they are using them, but we hope two or three of them are sleeping in there every night. She had to doctor up a kitty the other day that had been in a fight and ahd been bleeding. He let her wash him up and check his wound. She put a bit of medicine on it and she has seen him since then and the wound looks okay, so we are purring a bit more for him.
