Thankful Thursday

A few things we are thankful for: family, friends, good health, jobbies, food, home, sanity (what little Meowm has left), and as always, our military.

**Meowm says please don't mind the dirty window. Between us inside and the kitties outside, it just gets very dirty.**

Tabby Tuesday

Well, we have no new pictures yet, but here we are. Meowm has been a bit busy (at least she would like us to believe that), so you haven't seen us very often. BUT, we are determined to remedy that! We will do what we have to for her to help us blog more often! We will employ our most secretest tactics, use our bestest meows and purrs, and if those fail, we will stick our faces into her face, making our whiskers go up her nose, till she helps us!!!!!!!

Any suggestions for further tactics are welcome!!!

We found it!!!!!!!!!

We found the food we like! It's wonderful!! Lots of gravy, and nice tender pieces! Meowm brought some home last night and we both gobbled it up like we hadn't eaten in days! It's Wellness in the packets!!! So delicious!!! But, Meowm says at $1.29 a packet, we won't be getting it as much as we would like. BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess we will have to deal with the canned Wellness with a few packets every now and then. Why does the good for you, grain free stuff have to be so expensive?

Tabby Tuesday

It seems the purring and Khyra's snoofing helped Meowm. She seems in a bit better spirits this morning. We don't know what it is about those jobbie things, but they sure can make humans grumpy.

Finally Friday!

FINALLY!!! We have the internets back!!! And our home phone back!!! And Meowm left last night to help a friend with some school work, so we didn't get any new pictures downloaded. But we will this weekend. Meowm says she is considering doing a weeks worth of posts ahead of time. **snickers behind paw** We will believe that one when we see it!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Thankful Thursday

Well, while we are not thankful about out internets not getting done yesterday, we are hopeful it will get handled today.

We are thankful that our home phone is back on.
We are thankful that Meowm has been working on finding a good food for Orion, so his tummy will feel better.
We are thankful that Meowm has a job still in these trouble times.
We are thankful that our Uncle has a job now.
We are thankful, as always for family and friends.
We are thankful, as always for our mighty military and the protection they provide us and others.
We are thankful that Meowm is still helping the outdoor kitties, even if they do invade our territory and spray in it!

Speaking of military, Meowms friend that she has been concerned about is military. We don't want to put a name out here, but if you could purr for F.A. she would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Meezer Monday

Honey the Great Dane, tagged us to play
Frankies Name Game.

Several years ago, Meowm got her first Meezer (Siamese), a Seal Point named China. Meowm adored China, and China adored Meowm. They would talk to each other, and China would let Meowm rub her tummy. China would lay on Meowms chest every night before going to sleep to get her scritches. Once she had her fill of scritches, she would curl up on the big bed right next to Meowm.

One night in November of 2005, China crossed the bridge very suddenly. Meowm was devastated. Even if she had been able to get China to the v-e-t on the nasty, snow covered roads, nothing could have been done for China. Meowm cried and cried, but knew within days that she needed another Meezer to adopt her.

Meowm searched around locally, but didn't find a Meezer she could connect to. She did some search online and found the Siamese Internet Cat Club. Here she found Meezer lovers galore, and she also found a link to Siamese Rescue. Meowm was in heaven!!!

At first Meowm really wanted another Seal Point Meezer, but then she saw my face, and saw that I had been in the rescue for two years. Well, right then and there she decided that it was time for me to have my furever home. She filled out all the paperwork and was approved. I was in the Dever area, so Meowm had to figure out how to get me home. She got lucky, and some Meezer Transport volunteers decided they would bring me to Rawlins, Wyoming, and Meowm would drive there to meet them to pick me up.

So on a rather chilly day in January, Meowm and a friend of hers hopped in the metal machine with wheels and set off to bring me home. It was pretty snowy in some parts of Wyoming, and cold in all parts, but Meowm was determined. Shortly after lunch time, Meowm got to the truck stop where the volunteers, and I, awaited.

I was in a carrier, sitting on the floor. I kept seeing all kinds of humans walk by, and could smell some really good foods, but no one was giving me any. Purrty soon, this lady knelt down and looked right at me. She told me hello and told me she was my new Meowm. I was a bit bewildered by all that was going on, but was happy to hear that I had a new Meowm.

After a meal for Meowm and her friend, my carrier was picked up and we went back to the same machine with wheels I had been in. I was let out of the carrier to "do my business", but I was more interested in investigating. I sniffed around a bit, and Meowm scooped me up and hugged me. It was wonderful! Next I was loaded into a bigger carrier, and put into a smaller metal machine on wheels. Once we had been on the road a little ways, Meowm let me out of the carrier and I had full run of the metal machine on wheels. I sniffed everthing out and finally settled in the back window.

It was a long day, but once we finally stopped, I was taken into a new home. It was small, but I had been living with a boy in his room, cause I would bully the other cats in the house. I immediately checked out the enitre place, then set about filling up my tummy with foods and finally "doing my business". I slept on the big bed that night, and have done so every night since.

So on to the business of my name. Meowm has no idea where my name came from. I was rescued from a small hoarder, and had come into the rescue with another Meezer. I had a debut on TV one day to see if I could get adopted. Meowm used to have that segment, but it has been lost in the computer shuffle. Several humans asked Meowm if she was going to change my name, and she told them no, it was the one he came with and the one he is used to. So I have stayed Junior, although I have nicknames just like any of the rest of you. My most recent one is Grumpybutt or Handsome Man.

So, now you all know my story! Feel free to play the name game, and add how you came to your home if you want to!

Finally Friday!!!!

Honey the Great Dane, tagged us to play
Frankies Name Game.

So we will start with me, Orion! I will just go ahead and tell you how I came to adopt Meowm. She was leaving work one day, rather late, and she saw me hanging around the building she had just walked out of. She was already in that metal box with wheels, but got out and came over to me. I walked over to her and started rubbing all over her. (I knew as soon as she got out she was mine). She scritched my ears and I started purring and purring, and talking to her. Next thing I knew she had scooped me up and was snuggling me. She scritched on my paws and noticed that I had no claws. Then she looked at me and said "this won't do, but I have no carrier to take you home in tonite". I couldn't believe it when she got back in that metal box on wheels and left me!!! I found a warm place to bed down that night, but hung around so that if I saw her again, I could work my charm on her some more. Well, the next morning I was meowing up a storm all over the place, telling her I was around and to come see me. She didn't show up for awhile, and when she did, someone else had safely ensconced me in a nice warm room. That other person was very nice, but I was especially happy to see Meowm again. She scooped me up, and put me in another little box and tucked me inside the metal machine with wheels. She then opened up the smaller box, and lo and behold, there was food and water for me!!!!! I was warm, comfy and had food and water!!! It was wonderful!!! Throughout the day I napped and Meowm came out to check on me, and other people came to see me too. Then about mid afternoon, Meowm jumped in that metal box on wheels and we went for a trip. On this trip, Meowm started mulling over names. She wanted something to do with orange, since that is my color, so she ticked off a bunch of names: Tigger and Pumpkin were to often used. OJ just had connotations she didn't want attached to me. So she settled on an O name......Orion. And that is how I got my name. Oh, and the place we were going, yep, you guessed it, the v-e-t! I got poked and prodded and blood stole and tests taken, and I was declared healthy! Meowm scooped me up, put me back in the little box, and back in the metal box with wheels. After another trip, we ended up in what is now my home. I smelled another cat right away, but I didn't get to meet him. I was taken into a room of my own, with my own food dishes and my own litterbox! For the next week, Meowm rotated me in the little room and my brother in the little room. When my brother was in the little room, I got to roam all over the rest of the house...it was so wonderful! Sometimes Meowm would let us both be out in the big room, but I had to stay in my little box when that happened. But it wasn't for long periods, and Meowm would always turn my box so I could see outside. Finally one night, after about 6 days, Meowm let me out of the little box into the big room, and my brother was in there too! We were already purrty used to each other, so there was no whapping or hissing. And from that night forward, we have both roamed the house and shared everything. Meowm said she was going to find me another home, but I knew that I had adopted her and she would see the light soon enough. And she did, she fell in love with me and wouldn't trade me for anything! Nor would I trade her!

Stay tuned on Monday for Junior's Name story.

Two fer Tuesday

We should hopefully get our internets back up this coming Friday. We haven't been able to blog like we want to cause our internets has been down.

Plus Meowm had some sad news about a friend last week and her heart and tummy have been hurty because of it.

We have been checking in on you and posting a few comments. Bear with us, we hope all is back to normal by next Monday.
