Meezer Monday

Thank you all so much for your kind words after Baby Lily's passing. It helped Meowms heart to heal. We have just been taking it easy and staying out of the cold weather. We have had more of that white stuff...Meowm is ready for it to be gone. I have to agree with her...I am not enjoying the cold. Even with curling up on Meowms coat...I am still chilly. I haven't been spending as much time sleeping on my tree cause it is just to chilly in front of the big windows, so it is back to the millie bed, as well as Meowms coat.

Meowm continues to feed the other strays. Meowm is concerned about a couple of other babies out there. One that she has just recently begun seeing has some damage to the right eye...it looks pretty bad. Meowm will get the trap tomorrow and hopefully get that baby trapped quickly. There is also another one that is about the size that Baby Lily was...maybe from the same litter, that is sick. Meowm hopes to trap that one second.

Everyone have a great week!

**Meowm finally talked to the vet that took care of Baby Lily. Nothing in her blood or urine pointed to a specific cause for her illness. The vet says it wasn't anitfreeze cause that shows up. He said something attacked either her liver or her blood or both. He also told Meowm that one of the first things that became compromised after the seizures started was her eyesight.....it blinded Baby Lily. Meowm's heart is broke all over. She just figured Baby was sniffing and her eyes were funny cause of the drugs, not cause she couldn't see. She must have been so scared. The vet also said she wasn't exhibiting symptoms of any plant poisoning. He felt bad because he wanted to have some solid answers, but there weren't any to be had. He thanked Meowm for caring about this stray and she thanked him for taking care of her. Meowm asked him if it could have been something genetic and he didn't think so, he figured she was to old (even though she wasn't very old) for it to be something like that. Meowm is at least relieved that maybe the other little ones like her may not have what she had.**

Good luck to your Meowm in trapping the other 2 cats.

I noticed in her earlier post she said she found help from a rescue org. of one person. Has she been able to find any other organizations that might be able to help her with all of the strays outside? I know it can be difficult. The best we could do when we found Ollie and her sisters, was a no kill shelter that would take them, when they had room available. We had all of them for a while until there was room for them. I hope there are more organizations where you live that can help your Meowm help those cats.

Poor Baby Lily. Hearing that she had gone blind makes me all the more thankful that your mom was able to trap her and keep her from what would have been a terrible fate outside.

Junior, I hope it warms up for your and your mom soon. We are having a very mild winter here in Munich.

It is so good of your mom to feed the strays and try to help them. I hope she can trap some of the other little ones. *hugs* to your mom!
