Not so Wordless Wednesday
We won't be visiting till much till later this evening. Meowm is going to the Capitol for National Humane Lobby Day in Utah. We are trying to get Senate Bill 117 killed. Here's the scoop on SB117 from the American Humane Association:
"The implications of SB 117 are chilling. An individual would have to commit animal torture twice within a five-year period before felony-level punishment is triggered. A person who had already been convicted of animal torture could, for example, set a dog on fire in front of a child and still only be charged with a mere misdemeanor as long as he did it five years and one day after the first offense. To ensure animal torture is treated as the serious crime it is, it is critical that SB 117 does not pass the full Senate."

A new bill is being introduced, but I don't know its name yet, so please purray that SB 117 is dropped.

Really. It's a felony to abuse and animal in the state of Florida, and I would like to keep it that way!

My heavens what kind of a world do we live in where we have to fight for the right to have animals protected and safe from harm. I pray for this to get stopped! BIG HUGS to mommy for all of her hard work on this subject.
