Meezer Monday

I have been in a bit of trouble this weekend. I have been gobbling my brofurs
d-i-e-t food down as well as my own. Oh he gets some food, but he doesn't eat as quickly as I do. Meowm hadn't caught on to my sneakiness till this weekend. So she has taken to watching over us while we eat. When my brofur stops eating she covers his dish and waits a few minutes. He heads back to his dish so she uncovers it. Once he starts eating agin, I try to go join (push him out of the way) him, but Meowm has been stopping me. Now I get brushes while he is at this second run on his meal. So I guess I cn't complain too much.

Meowm here: I worry because Orion doesn't have as much weight to lose as Junior, so he needs to eat his entire meal. However, I can't stand around all day while he decides to finish it off. Nor can I leave it out for him. Any suggestions?

I wish I knew. I just hover so Rudy eats and Parker doesn't steal his foods. She would turn into a little piggy if I let her...

We are having this problem with Ichiro and Gemini. He is such a piggy and she is so picky and slow about her food... Good luck.

No suggestions here - mealtime is drama time around here too, with everybody trying to eat my food because I am dainty and picky and don't eat it all at once.

You could try feeding each in a separate room. Give them a set amount of time to eat then take the food up. This will train them to eat their food in one go--better for their digsestive systems--and make sure they eat only THEIR food.

Good Luck! Trish

Well nows, brudder and sissy is on diet food but I ain't and mum has to seperate us. Brudder eats in da laundry room and I eats in da kitchen and Whitney eats across from me. Hers ain't worried bouts us like her is Albert...he da one dat steals food. If it ain't eaten then her takes it away.

I sure hopes dis gets solved cuz it can be frusterating.

I think that Trish from Katnip Lounge has a great suggestion and it is the one I was also going to use. It's a bit of a pain for you and the cats too, and can be used during the times you are home and not at work, say, but it's better than nothing. I hope.

Hi Junior & Orion,

Sorry I'm so late to visit!! I'm sorry to hear that you have been naughty with your diets and making your Meowm stressy. Hsin-Yi says she thinks Katnip Lounge's suggestion is a really good one. When we swapped Lemon over from kibble ot the raw diet, she had to change from free-feeding (kibble left out for her all the time) to eating her meals in one go, coz you obviously can't leave raw meat out! It took her a while to adjust but she did eventually get used to it. She soon realised that if she didn't eat it all up, her bowl would be taken away if she wandered off so she learnt to not drag her meal times out and 'take breaks' but just eat it all up in one go! :-)

Good luck!
