Not So Wordless Wednesday

We had a snow storm last night. It didn't last as long as we were told it would, but it was still a bit nasty. Meowms machine on wheels was covered in snow, and she parks it under covered parking! That wind was mean!

Meowm felt bad for the feral kitties last night. At one point in time there was several of them hanging out on our porch. Meowm put food out a couple of times to help keep some fuel in them and hopefully help them keep warm. Then she cut on a plastic bin, put some towels and stuff in it, taped down and sealed up the edges of the lid and stuck it on the porch with the other winter homes. It probably wasn't as warm as the others, but at least it offered a bit of protection. We don't even know if anycat used it, we hope so though.

Meowm wishes she could build a big cat house on the porch, complete with heat for Winter and air conditioning for Summer....unfortunately we are certain the apartment complex management would frown on that.

Let's say some extra purrs this week for those kitties and woofies and other creatures out there with no warm homes (or cool depending on your current season) and no regular food.

We know, it's heartbreaking. The mom feeds our neighbour's outdoor cat (the one who SHOULD be indoors!), but there is a feral (she thinks) kitty who comes around and eats all the food. He's like a vacuum. Sometimes the mom thinks he should explode, he eats so much. :-(

Anyway, you guys stay safe and cosy and tell your mom to be extra careful driving. We hope she has 4 snow tires on!

It is hard when you are outside and cold. We have some very cold weather here too and we worry.

We feel the same about the poor kitties without homes. We hope the snow doesn't stay for long.

Oh we hate to think of animals outside in the cold. You two look so snug there in the big bed - we are the same here!
We are very lucky - we so wish your Meowm could build a shelter - we have missed you and hopefully we will be able to catch up with all our friends!

We saw your snowstorm on the late weather last night. Fortunately, the mountains will shield us from the snow.

Very nice of your mom to make an emergency shelter for the outdoor kitties.

Stay warm.

Your mommy sounds like Beth. She puts food out and has two dog houses with heating pads (made for outside) in them and lots of blankies too. Then she has a separate carrier for the food. Like she said anyone is welcome if they are cold and hungry. We have a few that just stay. Can't get near most of them....but they are safe and warm....All of the animals with no food or protection are in our thoughts and prayers too! BTW, I am happy you got my gift of snow I sent. I am getting more as I write so will be sending out more to all of my friends. Happy Thanksgiving!

That was so nice of your Mom to fix a place for the feral cats. When Patches was an outside cat, Mom would fix a box for her like that. She is so glad she is an inside cat now. Those feral kitties has to be very Thankful to your Mom. I'm hoping to get some treats from the table a little later. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. God bless.

'Our TomTom and Mama Katz haven't used the shelter our Teri made yet...but she keeps hoping. She has moved it around the yard and thought about putting it out in the woods. But at least they are getting some good foods here...
