Meezer Monday
I'm back!!!! I am feeling much better after having my teeth cleaned and three pulled. I was at the v-e-t on Saturday and I still have two stitches in my mouth. Meowm should have brought the camera. I was showing off for the v-e-t. First of all, I surprised the v-e-t because I don't hide in that little room...I explore! So when she came in she almost kicked me because I was near the door and Meowm wasn't paying close enough attention to me and if the v-e-t was coming in.
Anyway, she checked me over, then I jumped down on the floor and did my drop and roll for her. I rolled lots!!! And she was very impressed with my rolling abilities! And GUESS WHAT??? I have already lost 3 pounds. It has happened purrty quickly and I have been eating. It kinda makes Meowm wonder if that first scale was accurate or not. Whether it was the food or the scale was off, I am now a svelter mancat!!!

That's is a lot of kitty to lose. But being svelte is sooo n ice. Mommy forgot what that's like, MOL.
I'se so proud of your rolling. Me, I am a kitty coward when I have to go. Mommy leans over me and keeps kissing me till they come in. Lot of good that kissing does! I oughtta whap her!
We're glad the dental went well and that you're feeling good!
And concats for losing 3 pounds...or being weighed more accurately (or perhaps a little of both).

That is excellent news all around. Are you sure you didn't have extra heavy teeth?
That really is wonderful news and I'm so happy your feeling better...and lighter!
Sorry to hear you just went through that ordeal, I have to go have my teeths cleaned next week.
Dude.....there is a ginger cat on our front porch. I'm afraid he might be staying.....just thought your mom would want to know ;).

Hi Junior - glad to hear that your visit to the vet went well - and that you're losing some weight too! That sounds like very good progress!
Lemon used to be very brave at the vet too - she was only interested in where the treats were kept - ha! ha! Muesli is more of a scaredy cat but she was pretty good when my humans took her to the vet last week - I'll be posting photos soon!
About your question about the chicken necks - yes, there are bones in the middle - it's the end of the spinal column, really. But they are really soft and fine for us to chew them up - I know it's a bit hard for people who don't feed raw to understand but we (doggies & kitties) ARE really designed to eat raw bones - it's what we would eat in the wild - as long as they are soft ones. So not the big hard bones in cows and stuff...but in birds and other small mammals (eg. rabbits) - the bones are very crunchable and just chew up fine and give us lots of minerals & other nutrients. Of course they mustn't be COOKED bones coz then they are not soft anymore and can be very brittle adn splinter when chewed and that's when they are dangerous.
At this stage, Muesli is still little and hasn't got the jaw power and so she is just chewing the meat OFF the bones - but eventually as she gets older, she will be chewing the bone too (she has actually already started - yesterday we could hear her cruncing away!) Lemon used to eat 2 chicken necks per meal - bones and everything! :-)
The vets actually recommended chicken necks to us as well because they really help with Muesli's teething - otherwise she keeps going to chew on other stuff (like cables!!) - she seems much happier now that she has some "Real" stuff to chew and it keeps her busy for 10mins and tires her out (always good!) and helps her develop strong jaw & neck muscles! :-)

Chey's comment cracked me up. I'm sorry you had to have dental work. That is No Fun!
My Mommeh wishes she could find chicken necks for us, because chewing them up keep the teeth clean.
Hurrah for feeling svelte and clean teefs! We like to eat chicken and duck jerky (smaller 1 inch squares) to polish our fangs. We have to chew and chew and it gets the gunk off.
Maybe you are more svelte now because of your manly exercise routine of rolling around. I've heard it's good to firm up your tummy!
You dropped and rolled at the VET'S?! I curl up in a little ball and shiver when I go there.
Loved the good news report about the V - E - T visit.
And too, we learned something from Honey's comments. Thanks for that one.
The rolling exercise does help with the weight control, but you gots to do more than that. A little 'raging horses romp' down the hall and, (IF you gots them) a few swift ups and down the stairways.
Stay healthy ......
Glad to hear you feel much better even three been pulled !!!! You are tough cat : )
Take care
I am happy you are feeling better!
